Just days before Sunday 17, Patriots acquired Steven Jackson, known for his term of office with St. Louis Rams. The Jackson acquisition is trying to help with the team's injury-ridden game. However, his debut in New England was destroyed as he rushed for 35 yards and the Patriots eventually lost 20-10. This will be the last path for Patriots until the 14th Sunday of the 2017 season, also in Miami.

Postseason

Playoff Division AFC: vs. (# 5) Head of Kansas City

The Patriots will anger the Chiefs, who came into this match after winning 10 straight games to end the regular season, and a playoff game in Houston the previous week. The match was on penalties, because both quarterbacks played well. The Patriots will lead most of the game. The Heads will try to come back later to try to tie it, but the Patriot will win 27-20.

With the victory, New England advanced to the sixth AFC Championship game, and will face Denver for the second time in 3 seasons.

AFC Championships: at (# 1) Denver Broncos

Denver will lead the entire match, as their 1st defensive defeat of Tom Brady and New England number 1 strike 20-18. Toward the end, the Patriots will score with 18 seconds remaining, and try to tie the game, but 2 points passed Brady intercepted and not well. The Patriots will try onside kicks, but it will not last, and the Broncos win, advancing to the Super Bowl 50. This will be the last time Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will play each other, because Manning will retire following this season. Manning will finally end his 3-1 career against Brady in the AFC Championship game.

With that defeat, the Patriots ended their season with an overall record of 13-5.
