The state of Washington in the United States has laws governing the sale, possession and use of firearms and ammunition.

Washington's constitution protects the individual's right to bear arms. Washington prevents the locality from setting firearms in any way more stringent than State law unless expressly authorized by the State legislature. Official local firearms regulations include:

  • "Limiting the disposal of firearms in any part of their respective jurisdictions where there is a reasonable possibility that humans, domestic animals or property will be threatened." Such laws and ordinances shall not revolutionize the rights of individuals guaranteed by Article I, section 24 of the Constitution of the State to bear arms in self-defense or others. "
  • "Limiting the possession of firearms at any stadium or convention center, operated by the city, city, county, except that such restrictions do not apply to holders of hidden gun pistols, law enforcement officers, or any show, demonstration, or lecture involving firearms exhibitions. "
  • "Restrict areas in their respective jurisdictions where firearms can be sold."

There is no age limit on the possession of firearms and some people are prohibited from possessing firearms due to certain criminal convictions or who are released with their own ties or acknowledgments pending trial for certain criminal charges. Since July 1, 1994, machine guns, short barrel rifles, and any parts are prohibited. Suppressors and short barrel rifles can be owned and used in accordance with federal law. The gun is transferred via F.F.L. the dealer must be registered with Washington State D.O.L.

There is a rather long list of places where possession or storage of firearms or ammunition is prohibited or restricted. Legal laws prohibit firearms in places such as building areas used for litigation, certain areas of public mental health facilities, companies serving alcohol and banned for persons under 21 years of age, restricted access areas of commercial airports, States prisons, and outdoor music festivals. The administrative law prohibits or limits the possession or storage of firearms in places such as certain schools, where the Hearing Hearing Office, daycare centers, horse races, near certain explosives, and certain shelters for pause or youth. See Washington 'infobox' or one of the reference documents of this section for a complete list as well as where exceptions apply to those who hold hidden gun licenses.

As a general rule, a person can be legally open in Washington state wherever it is legal to have a loaded gun, as long as it does not show "intent to intimidate other alarms or [warrants] to other security people." gun in a vehicle (eg, car, bus, etc...) a person must have a legitimate secret handgun license. The county Sheriff or the city's chief of police will issue a covert gun license to any applicant, aged 21 years or older, meeting certain requirements, including no conviction of crime, no minor offenses against domestic violence, and no valid warrant. Open carrying firearms is not prohibited by law, although problems with some law enforcement agencies have been encountered while opening the carry in the past, especially in the case in Ellensburg, Washington.

In Washington, police can temporarily seize weapons from people who are considered judges as a threat to themselves or others. Law enforcement personnel can remind mental health professionals, who can determine whether a person is a threat or requires unintentional care. The police must notify family members or family members who are curious about the weapons returned to the person they are taking.

Washington is a state of "standing on your land", where there is no obligation to step back in the face of what ordinary people consider as a threat to themselves or others by others who may cause serious injury or death.. It is a gross violation to direct firearms "whether loaded or not, on or towards any human".
