ICD-10 is an international statistical classification produced by the World Health Organization. It is used in health care and related industries in several countries around the world. Some have developed their own national enhancements, building an international version of the classification.
The International Mental Classification and Behavioral Disorder (fifth chapther ICD-10) is actually the official mental health system for the US, but even many professionals are not aware of this because of DSM dominance.
WHO has made Chapter V available as two separate publications. The Clinical description and diagnostic guidelines (or "Blue Book") are for the use of clinical and general education. The Diagnostic criteria for research (or "Green Book") is intended for research purposes, and for use with the guidelines therein.
