Professional wrestling career
Early career (1992-1994)
In early 1992, Levesque began training as a professional wrestler at the Killer Kowalski school in Malden, Massachusetts. His classmates include fellow WWF wrestlers of the future Chyna and Perry Saturn. Levesque made his professional debut on March 24, 1992 in the Kowalski promotion, International Wrestling Federation (IWF), performing as Terra Ryzing. In July 1992, he defeated Mad Dog Richard to win the IWF Heavyweight Championship. Levesque wrestled for various promotions on the East Coast independent circuit until 1994 and during this period he was managed by John Rodeo.
World Championship Wrestling (1994-1995)
In early 1994, Levesque signed a one-year contract with World Championship Wrestling (WCW). In his first television game, Levesque made his debut as a villain named Terror Risin ', defeating Keith Cole. The name of his ring was soon modified into Terra Ryzing, which he used until mid-1994, when he was named Jean-Paul Là © vesque. This gimmick refers to the origin of his family name and he is asked to speak with a French accent, because he can not speak French. During this time, he started using his finishing maneuver, Pedigree . LÃÆ' à © vesque has a brief dispute with Alex Wright that ends at Starrcade with Wright pinning him. Between late 1994 and early 1995, LÃÆ' à © vesque briefly worked with Lord Steven Regal, whose upper class English persona resembled the character of Là © vesque. However, the team was short-lived, when Levesque went to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in January 1995 after WCW refused his request to be promoted as a single competitor.

Intercontinental_Champion_ (1995-1997) "> Intercontinental Champion (1995-1997)In a modified version of his gimmick at WCW, Levesque began his WWF career as "Connecticut Blueblood". According to Levesque, JJ Dillion initially named him Reginald DuPont Helmsley, but Levesque asked for a name to play with the first letter and management finally approved his advice on Hunter Hearst Helmsley. He appeared in recorded sketches, where he talked about how to use proper etiquette, until his wrestling debut on April 30, 1995 episode Wrestling Challenge . Helmsley made his maiden debut at SummerSlam, where he beat Bob Holly. In the fall of 1995, Helmsley started a feud with pig farmer Henry O. Godwinn, culminating in a famous Hog Pen game in In Your House 5: Seasons Beatings, where Helmsley won.
Although Helmsley was heavily promoted in the first few months after his debut, his career was suspended during 1996, beginning with hostility with Droese Duke "The Dumpster" after losing for Free for All in the Royal Rumble 1996. Until the event, the angle includes appearing on television every week with different female valet (which includes Playboy Playmates Shae Marks and Tylyn John). Sable is his valet at WrestleMania XII and after losing it to The Ultimate Warrior, as part of the storyline, he vents his aggression on him. Marc Mero who made his debut - her real husband - came to his rescue, starting a feud between the two wrestlers.
On June 1, 1996, Helmsley appeared on the Superstar episode in a match against Marty Garner. When he tried to do Pedigree , Garner mistook his maneuver for a double underhook suplex and tried to jump with that movement, causing him to land just above his head and suffer neck damage. Garner sued WWF, eventually settling out of court and then discussing the incident in an appearance on The Montel Williams Show.
Levesque is known backstage as one of the members of The Kliq, a group of wrestlers including; Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman and Scott Hall, known for influencing Vince McMahon and the WWF creative team. It has been claimed that he was scheduled to win the King of the Ring tournament in 1996, but the victory was instead awarded to Stone Cold Steve Austin after Madison Square Garden Incident, where Kliq broke the character after the game to say good-bye to leaving Nash and Hall. Despite the punishment, Helmsley succeeded in overtaking the MSG Incident. Mr. Perfect became his manager and he won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time on October 21, 1996, beating Marc Mero. When Mr. Perfect left WWF, his departure was explained as a result of Helmsley's back to his manager once he won the Intercontinental Championship. Helmsley held the title for nearly four months before dropping him to Rocky Maivia on the 13th February 1997 special episode of Monday Night Raw , called Thursday Raw Thursday . For a very short time, Helmsley was accompanied by Mr. Hughes, whose guardian of the storyline reminded Ted DiBiase and Virgil. After losing the Intercontinental title, he fought with Goldust, defeating him in WrestleMania 13. During their feud, Chyna debuted as his new bodyguard.
D-Generation X (1997-1999)
Helmsley is being highlighted again in 1997, winning the 1997 King of the Ring tournament by defeating Humans in the final. Later that year, Shawn Michaels, Helmsley, Chyna and Rick Rude formed the D-Generation X (DX). This stability became famous for pushing envelopes, such as Michaels and Helmsley making risquà © promos - using its slogan "Suck It" and "crotch chop" hand movements - and sarcastically mocking Bret Hart and Canada. By then, Helmsley had completely dropped the "blueblood snob" gimmick, appearing in a T-shirt and leather jacket. During this period, the name of his ring is shortened to only Triple H, though he will still be referred to for a while as Helmsley from time to time and Hunter for the rest of his career. Even after the DX versus Hart Foundation storyline ended, he continued to fight with Hart Hart's only remaining family member for the European Championship. It ended with a match between the two at WrestleMania XIV, provided that Chyna should be handcuffed at that time-Sgt Commissioner. Massacre. Triple H wins after Chyna throws the powder into Slaughter's eyes, momentarily "blinds" her and lets her interfere in the game.
After WrestleMania, Michaels was forced to retire temporarily due to a legitimate back injury suffered at Royal Rumble, with Triple H taking over the leadership position at the DX, claiming that his former colleague had "dropped the ball". She reintroduces X-Pac the night after WrestleMania and joins The New Age Outlaws. As 1998 went, DX became more popular, turning the group of criminals into fan favorites. During this time, he adopted the entrance gimmick asking the crowd "Are you ready? I say, are you ready?", Followed by a parody of WCW's competitor ring promoter announcer Michael Baffer's famous catch-phrase, "Let's get ready to rumble. " "replacing the word" rumble "with the DX slogan," sucking it. "Also during this time, Triple H started a feud with the Nation of Domination leaders and the rise of WWF villain The Rock.First story rivalry eventually led to a feud over the Intercontinental Championship, which won Triple H in a ladder match at SummerSlam. He did not hold a long title, however, because he was sidelined with a legitimate knee injury. When The Rock won the WWF Championship in Survivor Series, the rivalry between them continued, when DX against The Corporation stabilized where The Rock was the main star and Triple H received a shot at the WWF Championship on January 25, 1999. Raw Is War in the "I Quit" game, but the game ended when Triple H was forced to stop or see his aide Chyna strangled by Kane. new to Triple H, when Chyna betrayed him by attacking him after the game and joining The Corporation.
At WrestleMania XV, Triple H lost to Kane after Chyna interfered on his behalf and he is alleged to have reunited with DX. Later in the evening, he betrays his old friend and fellow DX X-Pac members by helping Shane McMahon defend the European Championship and join The Corporation. rotate the heel in the process. In April, he began to step away from his DX appearance, record his fist for the match, sport new and shorter wrestling rods and adopt a short hairstyle. His gimmick changed as he struggled to get a chance WWF Championship. After unsuccessful attempts to win the championships, Triple H and Man challenged WWF Champion Stone Cold's Steve Austin to a three-threat match at SummerSlam, featuring Jesse "The Body" Ventura as a special guest referee. Man won the game by embedding Austin. The following night at Raw Is War, Triple H defeated Mankind to win its first WWF Championship. He dropped the WWF Championship Mr. McMahon on September 16, 1999 episode of SmackDown! before regaining it at Unforgiven in the Six-Pack Challenge which included Davey Boy Smith, Big Show, Kane, The Rock and Humans. He defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin at No Mercy before dropping the title to the Big Show in Survivor Series. Triple H then continued his feud with Mr. McMahon by marrying his daughter, Stephanie McMahon, and defeating McMahon at Armageddon. As a result of the feud, an angle with Triple H and Stephanie began carrying WWF over the next seventeen months; together they are known as the McMahon-Helmsley Faction.
Era McMahon-Helmsley (2000-2001)
In January 2000, Triple H had dubbed himself "The Game", implying that he was at the top of the wrestling world (because it was not just "the best in the game", but that he was actually a "game") and was nicknamed "The Cerebral Assassin" by Jim Ross (nicknamed "The Game" originally intended for Owen Hart, with Triple H adopting a nickname in honor of Owen). On January 3rd episode Raw Is War , Triple H defeated Big Show to win their third WWF championship.
Triple H was assaulted with Mick Foley in early 2000. They both fought at Royal Rumble in Street Fight Match for the WWF Championship, which Triple H won after performing two Pedigree in Foley. Hostilities ended at No Way Out in Hell in a Cell, where Triple H retained the title and forced Foley to retire. Triple H pinned The Rock at WrestleMania 2000 to defend his title, but lost to Backlash to The Rock, ending his reign in 118 days. He got it back three weeks later, in the Iron Man game on Judgment Day, just to return it to The Rock at King of the Ring. Triple H then entered the storyline with Chris Jericho, who regretted Triple H by defeating him for the WWF Championship on April 17 episode Raw Is War before the title was restored to Triple H as a quick calculation was made by referee Earl Hebner, Jericho is not recognized. Their hostilities peaked in Last Man Standing in Fully Loaded won by Triple H. After that, Triple H entered hostilities with Kurt Angle, originally on the WWF Championship, but later as a love triangle between her, Angle, and Stephanie. Both Triple H and Angle wrestle for the WWF Championship against The Rock at SummerSlam, but The Rock retains the title after Angle receives a legitimate concussion during the failed Pedigree on the commentary table by Triple H. The dispute peaks at Unforgiven, at where Triple H beat Angle with Pedigree after a low shot from McMahon.
After a short run as a face that saw him defeat Chris Benoit at No Mercy, Triple H returned to his heel persona and restarted his animosity with Stone Cold Steve Austin when it emerged that Triple H had led Rikishi to run to Austin in Survivor Series, causing him a year off. While in the Triple H storyline says he has done it to protect Austin from the WWF Championships and end his career, in fact Austin's previous neck injury started harassing him again, forcing him to undergo surgery. In November 2000, Triple H and Austin held a match in the Survivor Series that ended when Triple H tried to trick Austin into coming to the parking lot to run it again, just to have Austin lift his car with a forklift and turn the car onto its 10-foot high roof. Triple H returned a few weeks later to attack Austin, and their hostilities continued into 2001 and ended in a Three Stages of Hell match in which Triple H defeated Austin. In 2001, Triple H also clashed with The Undertaker, who defeated him at WrestleMania X-Seven. The night after WrestleMania, Triple H interfered in a steel cage game between Austin (who just won the WWF Championship) and The Rock where he joined Austin and worked together double on The Rock, forming a tag team called The Two-Man Power. Travel. Triple H then beat Chris Jericho for the third Intercontinental Championship on 5 April SmackDown! , and won it for the fourth time two weeks later by defeating Jeff Hardy. Triple H went on to become the world tag team champion by winning the WWF Tag Team Championship for the first time at Backlash when he and Austin defeated Kane and The Undertaker in the tag team match "Winner Take All". As a Triple H Intercontinental Champion still, the victory makes it a double champion.
During the May 21, 2001 episode of Raw Is War, he suffered a legitimate and career-threatening injury. In a major event that night, he and Austin defended the WWF Team Tag Championship against Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit. At one point, Jericho had Austin trapped in the Walls of Jericho and Triple H ran to destroy him, but as he did, he had a tear in his left quadriceps muscle, causing it to come completely from the bone. Despite his inability to put a strain on his leg, Triple H was able to complete the match. He even allowed Jericho to place him in the Walls of Jericho, a move that puts great pressure on the quads. Tears need surgery, performed by orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. This injury brought the end of the Era McMahon-Helmsley, because the rigorous rehabilitation process made Triple H not in action for more than eight months, completely missing the Invasion storyline.
Evolution (2002-2005)
Triple H returned to Raw as a face on January 7, 2002 at Madison Square Garden. She won the Royal Rumble and received an undeniable WWF Championship match at WrestleMania X8, where Triple H beat Chris Jericho for the Indisputable WWF Championship. After holding the title for a month, Triple H dropped him to Hulk Hogan in Backlash. Triple H then becomes exclusive to SmackDown! list due to the WWF draft draw and continued against Jericho, culminating in a Hell in a Cell match on Judgment Day, which Triple H won. On episode 6 June 2002 from SmackDown! Triple H beat Hogan in a # 1 competition for the WWE Undisputed Championship at King of the Ring against The Undertaker, but was unsuccessful at the event.
For a while, between Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, the McMahon-Helmsley Faction was brought to the official conclusion on screen. By the time she got back, the wedding on Triple H's screen with Stephanie McMahon was wobbly, so Stephanie faked pregnancy to get her back to her side. When he finds out that it's a fake, he throws it openly at Raw when they should renew their wedding vows. Stephanie was in harmony with Jericho afterward, but she was forced to leave after losing three match threats on Raw the night after WrestleMania when she was pinned by Triple H. The divorce, and thus the storyline, was settled on Revenge.
Meanwhile, Shawn Michaels has returned to WWE and joined the New World Order (nWo). Michaels and Kevin Nash plan on taking Triple H to Raw to put it in groups. Mr. McMahon, however, dissolved the following nWo some backstage complications and brought Eric Bischoff as general manager of Raw . One of Bischoff's first intentions was to follow up the nWo plan and bring Triple H to the Raw list. Triple H goes to the Raw brand, reunited with Michaels, but on July 22 he turns on Michaels by doing Pedigree to him during what should be a DX reunion, turning his heel once again. The following week, Triple H smashed Michaels's face into the car window to prove that Michaels was weak. These events led to the beginning of a long story competition between former partners and finally "Unsanctioned Street Fight" at SummerSlam, where Michaels came out of retirement to win. After that, however, Triple H attacked him with a hammer and Michaels was taken out of the ring.
Prior to September 2, 2002, WWE only recognized one world champion, WWE Undisputed Champion, for the Raw and SmackDown brands! . After SummerSlam, WWE Undisputed Champion Brock Lesnar becomes exclusive for SmackDown! , leaving Raw without a world champion. Raw general manager Eric Bischoff later won the Triple H World Heavyweight Championship, represented by the Big Gold Belt (previously used to represent the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and WCW World Heavyweight Championship), making him the first World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H defended his title against Rob Van Dam at Unforgiven when Ric Flair hit Van Dam with a hammer.
In October 2002, Triple H will begin a controversial fight with Kane, leading to a match at No Mercy on October 20 where both the Kane Intercontinental Championships and the World Heavyweight Class Triple H Champions are at stake. In the weeks before the game, Triple H claimed that, a few years earlier, Kane had an unrequited relationship with a woman named Katie Vick. He went on to claim that, after Vick was killed in a car accident, Kane (the driver) raped his corpse. Triple H then threatened to show Kane's videotape of the action; However, the footage that eventually aired shows Triple H (dressed as Kane) simulating necrophilia with a mannequin in a coffin; Tag team partner Kane The Hurricane responded the following week by showing a Triple H video (more precisely, someone wearing a Triple H mask) getting an enema. The angle is very unpopular among fans, and is not emphasized before the title game. Triple H went on to defeat Kane at No Mercy, bringing together two titles.
Triple H eventually lost in World Heavyweight Championship with Shawn Michaels in the first Elimination Chamber match in the Survivor Series. He defeated Van Dam to earn the title at Armageddon with Michaels as a special guest referee. He regained the title from Michaels in the Three Stages of Hell at Armageddon.
In February 2003, Triple H formed a stable known as Evolution with Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista. Triple H and Flair challenge Rob Van Dam and Kane for the World Tag Team Championship, but they lose the match. The group was encouraged in Raw 2003-2004 and their height of dominance occurred after Armageddon, where every member of Evolution left pay-per-view holds the title. Triple H held the World Heavyweight Championship for much of 2003, defending it in a game against Booker T in WrestleMania XIX in a corner with racist tones. He lost the title after 280 days in September 2003 at Unforgiven to Bill Goldberg, in a match with terms that Goldberg had lost, he had to retire. After unsuccessful attempts to win back titles from Goldberg in a rematch in the Survivor Series, he eventually reclaimed the championship against Goldberg in a three-match threat at Armageddon which also involved Kane. At Rumble Royal 2004, Triple H and Shawn Michaels fought in the Last Man Standing game into the doubles, so Triple H defended the title as a result. Triple H dropped the title to Chris Benoit at WrestleMania XX. Triple H is designed for the SmackDown brand! on March 22 episode Raw and failed to capture the WWE Championship from Eddie Guerrero. Triple H is designed back to Raw without competing in SmackDown! and attempted to retake Chris Benoit's World Heavyweight title in the next rematch, including a rematch of WrestleMania between Triple H, Benoit and Shawn Michaels in Backlash, but came out unsuccessful.
He then ended his animosity with Michaels, defeating him in Hell in a Cell game at Bad Blood, which became the longest survivor in Cells in history. He then continued his animosity with Chris Benoit, confronting him for the title at Vengeance and on July 26 episode Raw in a 60-Minute Iron Man game, losing both after Eugene intervened and hit him with a steel chair. He went on to defeat Eugene at SummerSlam. Triple H then regained the title from former partner Randy Orton at Unforgiven. Following three world class heavyweight threats against Benoit and Edge on November 29, 2004 episode Raw , the World Heavyweight Championship became vacant for the first time. At the New Year's Revolution, Triple H won the Elimination Chamber to begin the reign of the tenth degree. At WrestleMania 21, Triple H lost in the championship for Batista, and then lost to two matches in Backlash and Vengeance. After Vengeance, Triple H took absences from WWE due to mild neck problems.
After a four-month hiatus, Triple H returned to Raw on October 3, 2005 as part of WWE Homecoming . He teamed up with fellow Evolution Flair members to defeat Chris Masters and Carlito. After the match, Triple H flashing Flair hit Flair with a hammer, triggering a feud between the duo. Flair beat Triple H in a steel cage game at Taboo on Tuesday for Flair's Intercontinental Championship. Furthermore, Triple H defeated Flair in a non-titled Last Man Standing game in the Survivor Series to end their hostilities.
D-Generation X reunion (2006-2007)
Although Triple H failed to win the Royal Rumble game at Royal Rumble, another championship opportunity popped up for him on the Road to WrestleMania Tournament. He won the tournament, giving him a match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 22, where Triple H and John Cena fought in the main event for the title, which Triple H lost through submission. Later that month in Backlash, Triple H was involved in another WWE Championship game, against Edge and Cena in a three-threat match, where he lost again. Angry at his loss, Triple H bleeds like using a hammer to attack Edge and Cena and then perform a number of crotch chops. Triple H failed to try to win the WWE title from Cena on numerous occasions, blaming his shortcomings on Vince McMahon, which eventually led to a feud between McMahons and Triple H.
Shawn Michaels returns on the June 12th episode of Raw and immediately reunite with Triple H to reshape D-Generation X, turning Triple H into fan favorite once again for the first time since 2002. DX defeated The Spirit Squad at Vengeance in a 5-on-2 handicap match. They continued their feud with Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon, and The Spirit Squad for several weeks. They then beat The Spirit Squad again on July 18, 2006 from Saturday Night's Main Event in a 5-on-2 elimination match. They then again beat McMahons at SummerSlam, blocking the attack of several wrestlers who attacked them before the match as directed by Mr. McMahon. At Unforgiven, D-Generation X then beat McMahons and ECW World Champion Big Show in a 3-on-2 Hell in a Cell match handicap. During the game, the DX embarrassed Vince by pushing his face between Big Show's ass, and DX won when Triple H broke the hammer on Mr.'s shoulders. McMahon after Michaels did Sweet Chin Music to her.
On Cyber ââSunday during the DX feud with Rated-RKO, referee special guest Eric Bischoff allowed the use of illegal weapons to give Rated-RKO a victory. In the Survivor Series, DX took revenge when their team beat the Edge and Orton teams with a clean sweep during their five-match five game. In January 2007, on the New Year's Revolution, the DX and Rated-RKO fought for no contest after Triple H suffered a legitimately torn right quadriceps (similar to what he suffered in 2001 on the other foot) 15 minutes into the game. The surgery was successfully performed on January 9, 2007 by Dr. James Andrews.
Breaks WWE Champion (2007-2009) record
Triple H returned to SummerSlam, where she defeated King Booker. Two months later at No Mercy, Triple H was originally scheduled to face Umaga in a single game. However, early in the evening, Triple H decided to challenge the new WWE Champion Randy Orton, rekindling his rivalry with Orton who had been disturbed after his injury. Triple H won the game, won the eleventh world championship and the sixth WWE Championship, and then defended his title against Umaga in his scheduled routine after Mr. McMahon announced the match for the WWE title. After that McMahon gave Orton a rematch against Triple H in the Last Man Standing game on the main event, and Triple H lost after RKO on the broadcasting table. Triple H's reign at No Mercy is the fifth shortest government in WWE history, only lasting for the duration of the event. After winning the Game Chamber elimination in No Way Out, Triple H earned a WWE Championship match by outlasting five others, lastly eliminating Jeff Hardy after Pedigree in a steel chair. However, at WrestleMania XXIV, Orton was arrested after Triple H pitch and embed John Cena following Triple H's Pedigree in Cena. A month later, in Backlash, Triple H won the title in a fatal four-way elimination game against Orton, Cena, and John "Bradshaw" Layfield, tying the record for most WWE Championships reigning with The Rock. Triple H then retained the title against Orton at Judgment Day in a steel cage game and again at One Night Stand in the Last Man Standing game. Orton suffered a legitimate collarbone injury during the match, ending prematurely hostilities.
Triple H then went on to defeat John Cena's net to successfully defend the WWE Championship in the Night of Champions. On the June 23rd episode of Raw , Triple H is designed for the SmackDown brand as part of the WWE 2008 draft, in the process of making the WWE Championship exclusive to SmackDown . He defended the championship over the summer by beating the likes of Edge in The Great American Bash and The Great Khali in SummerSlam, and is the only champion to defend his title in the Scramble Unforgiven Championship. After this, he managed to defend it against Jeff Hardy both at No Mercy and Cyber ââSunday.
In the Survivor Series, Triple H is scheduled to defend the championships against Vladimir Kozlov and Jeff Hardy, but Hardy is not included in the game after the attack and injury manuscript. During the game, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero announced that Edge had returned and introduced him into the contest. Hardy bothers and hits Triple H with a steel seat intended for Edge, thus earning him the title after 210 days of reign and producing Edge winning his sixth world title. After failing to regain the title at Armageddon, Triple H entered seventh at Royal Rumble 2009, but was last eliminated by Randy Orton. In February at the Elimination Chamber, Triple H won the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber's SmackDown game, setting a record for most ruling on eight. The record lasted until 2011 when John Cena won his ninth WWE Championship.
On February 16th episode of Raw , Triple H made an appearance that helped Stephanie and Shane McMahon, after they were attacked by Randy Orton. On the February 20 episode of SmackDown, Triple H was interviewed by Jim Ross; in the interview, the footage shown highlights the events that occurred on the 16th of February episode Raw . Ross asks Triple H how he feels seeing the tape, in response, he damages his character (after 5 years of marriage) by admitting that Vince McMahon is his father-in-law, that Shane is his brother-in-law, and that Stephanie is his wife, thus creating a rivalry between Triples H and Orton. On the February 23rd episode of Raw, Triple H confronted Orton, before attacking him, Ted DiBiase, and Cody Rhodes (group known as The Legacy) with a hammer and chasing them from the arena. At WrestleMania XXV, Triple H defeated Orton to defend the title. He teamed up with Shane McMahon and Batista against Orton and The Legacy in a six-player match for the WWE Championship at Backlash, which they lost after Orton pinned Triple H after Punt's Kick. After six weeks of TV, selling injuries, he lost the title of Three Stages of Hell to Orton in The Bash. On the Champions Eve, he again lost a title game to Orton in a three-match threat also involving John Cena.
Final with D-Generation X (2009- 2010 )
On the August 10th episode Raw , Triple H meets Michaels at the office canteen in Texas where Michaels works as a chef; throughout the show, Triple H tried to convince Michaels to return to WWE from hiatus. After several incidents (including a fire-burning burger and Michaels yelling at a little girl), Michaels agrees to work with Triple H to face The Legacy at SummerSlam, who superkicked the girl, and quit her job as a chef. On the August 17th episode of Raw , Triple H and Michaels were officially reunited as DX, but as they were in the process of their in-ring promo, The Legacy attacked them both. Their first match after reuniting was against The Legacy at SummerSlam, which they won. However, at Breaking Point, they lost to The Legacy in the first Count Anywhere Submissions game in WWE history.
In Hell in a Cell, the DX beat The Legacy in a Hell in a Cell match. The DX failed to challenge John Cena to the WWE Championship in a three-match threat in the Survivor Series, after which they remain friends and partner. On December 13th at TLC: Table, Ladder and Chairs, DX beat Jeri-Show (Chris Jericho and Big Show) to win the WWE Team Unified Tag Championship in Table, Ladder and Chair Match. This is the first tag team championship they reign together.
On December 21, Triple H announced that Hornswoggle is the new DX mascot. This happened after Hornswoggle sued DX due to emotional and physical pressure because they did not allow him to join DX. After being taken to court where they were ruled guilty by a jury and a dwarf judge, Michaels told Triple H that Hornswoggle could become a mascot. Triple H agrees to it only if the allegation is canceled, as approved by Hornswoggle. On the 11th of January, 2010 episode of Raw , Mike Tyson, who was a guest of Raw that night, worked with Jericho to face the DX; However, at the end of the fight, Tyson animates Jericho and aligns himself with Triple H and Michaels. On February 8th episode of Raw , DX lost the Team Unified Team Championship to ShoMiz (The Miz and Big Show) in a three-threat elimination tag, also involving The Straight Edge Society (CMD and Luke) Gallows). On March 1st episode Raw , they lost a rematch for the title. This was their last television match before Michaels retired. Michaels and Triple H held a non-wrestling reunion in 2010 Tribute to the Troops.
On February 21, Triple H eliminated later WWE Champion Sheamus from the Elimination Chamber game, though he did not win the title himself. Sheamus attacked him a few weeks later, making the match at WrestleMania XXVI, which Triple H won. Also at WrestleMania, Michaels lost to The Undertaker and was forced to retire. While giving a farewell speech the following night, Sheamus attacked him and set up a rematch in the Extreme Rules. Sheamus attacked Triple H at the start of the show, before then winning the match. Triple H then takes time off to recover from injury. Triple H made an appearance that has not been broadcasted on October 30th at the WWE Fan Appreciation Event and also in Tribute to the Troops 2010.
On the 21st of February 2011 episode of Raw , Triple H re-interrupted the return of The Undertaker and challenged him for the match at WrestleMania XXVII, which later became No Holds Barred's match. A week later, he attacked Sheamus with Pedigree through the broadcasting table in retaliation for Sheamus giving him a ten-month injury. At WrestleMania XXVII, Triple H lost, which extended Undewaker's undefeated defeat to 19-0; Undertaker is carried from a ring on a stretcher while Triple H goes out of his own accord.
At the end of July 18th episode Raw , Triple H returned on behalf of the WWE board of directors to free his father-in-law Vince McMahon from his duties. This was followed by the announcement that he had been assigned to take over as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of WWE. This is during the storyline where CM Punk has won the WWE Championship and left the company. Although a new champion was crowned, Triple H helped sign Punk back and upheld the championship government. He announced he would be the match referee to unite the two WWE Championships at SummerSlam. Though he counts pinfall for CM Punk to win, John Cena's legs are on the rope, which will break the pin. Regardless, Triple H's old friend, Kevin Nash, attacked Punk immediately after the match to allow Alberto Del Rio to become the new champion. Although Nash and Punk demanded a match against each other, Triple H sacked Nash for defiance and booked himself in a No Disqualified match at Night of Champions with a COO position on the line. He won the game despite disruptions from John Laurinaitis, Nash, The Miz, and R-Truth. After repeated attacks from these wrestlers in various games, the majority of WWE staff on screen gave Triple H a disbelieving voice. Mr. McMahon returns to free him from his duties at Raw , even though he's still COO. He was replaced as general manager of Raw by Laurinaitis, who booked it in a tag team match against Miz and R-Truth at Vengeance. During the game, Nash once again attacked him and did so the next night on the 24th episode of Raw , taking him to his hospital (kayfabe). WWE then announces that Triple H has suffered broken vertebrae, and will be out of action. She returned on December 12, as part of the Slammy Awards. On December 18, he defeated Nash at the Table, Staircase, and Chairs in a sledgehammer hammer game, after attacking him with a sledgehammer.
Triple H returns on the January 30th, 2012 episode of Raw to evaluate the performance of Laurinaitis as general manager. Before he could announce his decision, he was interrupted by the returning Superintendent. After initially refusing a rematch because he did not want to tarnish The Undertaker's legacy, Triple H accepted the challenge after being called a coward living in the shadow of Shawn Michaels, on the condition that their rematch was contested in Hell in a Cell. Triple H went on to lose in this match at WrestleMania XXVIII.
Triple H returned on the April 30th episode of Raw , when he refused to give in to Brock Lesnar's unreasonable contract, causing Lesnar to attack him and the storyline breaking his arm. Upon returning two weeks later, Triple H was confronted by Lesnar's legal representative, Paul Heyman, who announced Lesnar filed a lawsuit against WWE for breaching the contract. After he greeted Heyman, Heyman threatened another lawsuit against Triple H for attacks and batteries. At No Way Out in June, Triple H challenged Lesnar, who was absent, to a match at SummerSlam, which Heyman rejected on Lesnar's behalf the following night at Raw. At Baku 1000 , Stephanie McMahon hunts Heyman into a Triple H challenge against Lesnar. To upset Triple H, Lesnar broke the arm of Michaels on the August 13th episode Raw . Six days later in SummerSlam, Triple H lost to Lesnar after sending to Kimura Lock, breaking his hand again on the storyline.
On August 27th episode of Raw , Triple H supposedly overcame her retirement potential, but did not make a definite decision. On December 17th episode Raw , Triple H made a non-wrestling appearance for 2012 Slammy Awards debuting with her new haircut.
Triple H returns on episode 25 February 2013 Raw , fights Brock Lesnar after he tries to attack Mr. McMahon. The fights resulted in Lesnar having his head torn and needing 18 stitches. The following week, Triple H issued a challenge for Lesnar, asking for a rematch with him on WrestleMania 29, which Lesnar received on condition that he could choose the terms. The following week, after Triple H signed a contract and attacked Heyman, the provision was declared No Holds Barred with a Triple H career on the line. In WrestleMania, Triple H defeated Lesnar after Pedigree to the steel ladder. On the April 15th episode of Raw Heyman challenged Triple H to face Lesnar in a steel cage match at Extreme Rules, which Triple H received the following week. Triple H finally lost his game on pay-per-view on May 19 thanks to a distraction from Heyman, and he also injured his jaw.
The next night at Raw , Triple H writes to Heyman's latest client, Curtis Axel. He suffered a story concussion and was considered to have been scorched. Although medically cleared to wrestle before the June 3rd episode of Raw , Vince and Stephanie McMahon did not allow Triple H to wrestle with Axel, citing concerns for her welfare and the safety of her children. In response, Triple H stormed the arena and vowed to return to the ring next week at Raw. On the episode, he lost to Axel when McMahon hesitantly disqualified him, ordered Axel to leave the ring, then stole the bell and microphone to prevent the match from resuming.
Authority (2013-2016)
On the August 12th episode of Raw, Triple H announced that he would be the special guest referee of the SummerSlam main event: the WWE Championship match between champions John Cena and Daniel Bryan before attacking Brad Maddox with Pedigree >. At the event, after Bryan won the game and title, Triple H attacked Bryan with Pedigree, allowing Randy Orton to cash his money on the Bank and win the title, changing his heels for the first time since 2006. Together with his wife Stephanie , they created The Authority, with The Shield as its enforcer and then Kane joined as Director of Operations.
Over the next few weeks he made a handicap match against a wrestler who questioned his decision, such as Big Show and Dolph Zigler, even shot Cody Rhodes in retaliation for his displeasure. On the 7th of October episode Raw , after "shooting" Big Show, Show dropped it in retaliation and was done by officials out of the arena. At the 2013 Slammy Awards, Triple H immediately did Pedigree at Orton after Bryan pushed her to Stephanie McMahon, though Orton was surprised.
At WrestleMania XXX, Triple H lost to Bryan, thus giving Bryan part in the next title match against Batista and champion Randy Orton. Triple H attacked Bryan after the game and then tried to prevent Bryan from winning the title by interrupting and recruiting Scott Armstrong as a crooked referee, but this effort did not work when Bryan won the title by making Batista bow. To end the Bryan title rule, Triple H again formed Evolution with Orton and Batista on the April 18 episode of SmackDown, but Bryan remained the champion because The Shield turned The Authority on. At Extreme Rules, Evolution lost to The Shield and again in the Payback in a No Banned elimination game Banned. On June 2 episode of Raw Batista will leave the group after Triple H refuses to give her a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H will then switch to "Plan B", which will be Seth Rollins enliven the Shield and rejoin the Authority.
On October 27th episode of Raw , Triple H will offer John Cena a chance to join the Authority, which Cena rejected. This led to Triple H announcing a five-to-five team elimination match for the Survivor Series, with a team representing the Authority facing a team led by Cena. On November 3rd episode Raw , Mr. McMahon announced that if Team Authority would lose, they would be expelled from power. On November 21st episode of SmackDown, Triple H announces that if Team Cena loses, all Cena Teams, except Cena themselves, will be fired. In the Survivor Series, Big Show joined The Authority by betraying Cena, but Sting made his WWE debut, attacked crooked referees, Scott Armstrong and Triple H, and helped Dolph Ziggler pin Rollins to give victory to Team Cena,.
After being out of power for a month, Rollins persuaded Cena to return the Authority on December 29th episode Raw , by holding Raw hosted Hostage guest with the Big Show. On January 19th episode of Raw, Cena will defeat Rollins, Kane and Big Show in a defective game when Sting diverts Authority, allowing Cena to pinch Rollins and win back the work of Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan, who fired two weeks previously by Triple H and Stephanie. On January 26, it was officially announced through WWE.com that Triple H challenged Sting to a "face-to-face" confrontation at Fastlane, which Sting accepted; at the confrontation, Sting challenged Triple H to the match at WrestleMania 31, which was received by Triple H. In WrestleMania, Triple H defeated Sting with a distraction from D-Generation-X, but shook hands with Sting after the game. After his match with Sting, he and Stephanie McMahon were then confronted by The Rock and Ronda Rousey during a promo on the recording crowd at the event.
Throughout 2015, Triple H retained its role as leader of the Authority, and was involved in mediating issues between Seth Rollins and Kane. During the summer, Triple H began testing the Rollins by keeping him champions against Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and Sting.
After Rollins suffered a valid severe knee injury at a live event, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was vacated and it was announced that there would be a tournament to determine the new champion in the Survivor Series. On November 9th episode of Raw , Triple H offers to give Reigns a bye to the final of the tournament if he joins the Authority, but Reigns refuses. In the Survivor Series, Reigns beat Dean Ambrose in the final of the tournament to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H came out and tried to congratulate the Government, but instead was hit with a spear. This allows Sheamus to cash in on his Bank contract and quickly defeat the Government to win the championship, producing Sheamus in line with the Authority.
Authority made a rematch between Reigns and Sheamus for the title on November 30th episode of Raw , provided that Dean Ambrose and The Usos will lose the Interven Championship and WWE Tag Team Championship championship if Reigns fails to win the game in less time from 5 minutes and 15 seconds (which is the reigns of Reigns' title in the Survivor Series); Government was won by disqualification, allowing Ambrose and The Usos to retain their title ranks. In TLC: Table, Ladder & amp; Chairs, Sheamus retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Reigns because of disruption from The League of Nations. After the game, Reigns "snapped" and cruelly attacked Sheamus and Triple H, who came to appease Reigns. Because the injury (kayfabe) suffers from Reigns, Triple H takes hiatus from the television.
Triple H is back in the 2016 Royal Rumble match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, as the 30th participant is not announced. After removing the defending champion, Roman Reigns, he then knocked out Dean Ambrose to secure the second victory of Royal Rumble and the 14th world championship overall. After breaking the Reigns nose in the plot, Triple H was then challenged by Ambrose, whom he defeated in the Roadblock to defend the title, before dropping him back to Reigns - who had become the number 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar in a match three threats at Fastlane - in WrestleMania 32, ending his reign on 70 days.
After WrestleMania 32, with Authority now disbanded, Triple H competed on the WWE Live UK tour in late April before taking the absence of WWE television, while occasionally performing on NXT and Cruiserweight Classic shows. He is present for the finales of the Cruiserweight Classic and the English Championship Tournament, awarding titles to T.J. Perkins and Tyler Bate, respectively.
Various appearances (2016-present)
On the August 29th episode of Raw , Triple H returned by interfering in the main event for the recently uninvited and established WWE Universal Championship. First, he attacked rival Roman Reigns with Pedigree , allowing former ruling members Seth Rollins to get rid of him, before attacking Rollins with Pedigree , allowing Kevin Owens to win the title. Triple H appeared in the Clash of Champions on September 25, escorting his wife Stephanie McMahon from the building, after Owens managed to defend the Universal Championship against Rollins. On the January 23rd, 2017 episode of Raw , in a match between Rollins and Sami Zayn, the hit Triple H music, giving a nuisance that caused Zayn to defeat Rollins and, in the process, stole the Rollins at Royal Rumble. On January 28th at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio, Rollins will "take over" the show and call Triple H, who shows up and calls the security guard to escort Rollins out of the arena. On January 30th, Triple H made his first appearance on Raw since August 2016, reportedly finally accepted the Rollins challenge for a match. However, he did not, labeling Rollins as a despicable failure, despite all the opportunities given to him. He summoned Rollins to come and meet his destroyer, which he did, only for him to be jumped by Samoa Joe. Rollins suffered a legitimate knee injury in the ambush, raising doubts over a potential match with Triple H, which led to a non-sanctioned match at WrestleMania 33 on April 2, where Triple H lost to Rollins.
On November 13th episode Raw , Triple H announced himself as the fifth member of Team Raw for Survivor Series. In Survivor Series, team captain Kurt Angle will win the game for Raw but Triple H pedigreed Angle which also caused the elimination of Angle in the match. But then he pinned the last member of Team Smackdown because it appears Triple H wants credit for Raw's victory. After a match of fellow survivors, Braun Strowman fired him twice. He was also seen hitting the video screen when he came out of the stage. Triple H showed up the following night at Raw, and Angle said that if Triple H ever attacked him again, he would reciprocate.
Triple H's next appearance comes at the 2018 Elimination Chamber for Raw Ronda Rousey's contract. During the segment, Triple H insists that there is no specific provision in Rousey's contract, but he will have his debut game at WrestleMania 34. Before Rousey signed his contract, Kurt Angle raised the incident from WrestleMania 31 where Rousey embarrassed the Authority and said Triple H and Stephanie now happy to have Rousey so they can manipulate it. This caused Rousey to place Triple H through the table and Stephanie slapped Rousey. Stephanie then backed away and Rousey signed the contract. The next night, the fourth had a segment to apologize and it ended with Triple H attacking Angle. The following week, Angle revealed that although Triple H and Stephanie are WWE executives, they also have contracts to compete as wrestlers. Angle reminds Triple H of his warning from after the Survivor Series, and he schedules himself and Rousey to face Triple H and Stephanie in WrestleMania 34 in a mixed-tag team match. At the event, Triple H and Stephanie lost to Angle and Rousey after Stephanie was handed over to Rousey's armbar. Triple H lost to John Cena at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
