Richard Crawford (born August 1, 1990) is an American football cornerback who is currently a free agent. He was selected in the seventh round of NFL Draft 2012 by the Washington Redskins. He played soccer at Southern Methodist University.

Professional career
Washington Redskins
Crawford was drafted by Washington Redskins in the seventh round of the NFL Draft 2012, joining high school teammate Josh LeRibeus, composed by the Redskins in the third round. On May 4, 2012, Redskins officially signed him to a four-year contract. At the start of the 2012 training camp, it was announced that Crawford took the reps as a punt returner who provided the competition for Brandon Banks. After an impressive preseason, including having two intercepts and displaying a good kickback skill, he made a list of the last 53 players at the start of the 2012 season.
On September 9, 2012, he made his NFL debut in the season opener against the New Orleans Saints and has one tackle. In the 14th week against the Baltimore Ravens, he and Niles Paul took over the kick back for an inactive Brandon Banks. In overtime, Crawford returned a kick for 64 yards, which set up a field goal that won the match. He will then recover the ball after Ryan Kerrigan forced Nick Foles to fumble in Sunday 16. In the last regular season game against the Dallas Cowboys, Crawford recorded his first interception on Tony Romo in the Cowboys' first drive of the game.
Crawford announced via his Twitter account that he will change his uniform from # 39 to # 20 on April 6, 2013. In the third preseason game of 2013 against Buffalo Bills, he suffered a season-ending injury to his LCL and ACL during his punt return. The Redskins waived/injured him on 26 August 2013, two days he was placed in injured injuries after lightening clearing.
Crawford was released during the final cut on August 29, 2014. After clearing the waivers, he was signed to the team's training team the following day. He was released on September 9, 2014.
Crawford again signed a contract with the Redskins on September 29, 2014. He was released on 7 October.
San Diego Charger
Crawford signed with San Diego Chargers on October 27, 2014. He was released on November 22, but Chargers signed him to their training team four days later. On September 4, 2015, Crawford was released.
The Chargers signed Crawford into a futures contract on January 4, 2016. On September 3, 2016, he was released by Chargers.
