Association with Red Scorpions
In 2006, the brothers partnered with Red Scorpions, another Vancouver gang. The purpose of their association is to help Bacon compete with the gangs of the United Nations. The authorities believe that the brothers took leadership control of the Red Scorpions shortly thereafter.
Catching Jamie and Jarrod Bacon
On April 3, 2009, Jamie Bacon was arrested by Canadian Mount Police Emergency Response Team for his alleged involvement in the 19 October 2007 murder of 'Surrey Six' which included two innocent victims: Chris Mohan and Ed Schellenberg at Balmoral Tower of the Highrise building in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. This development occurred after a colleague from Bacon's brother, Dennis Karbovanec, pleaded guilty to his participation in the massacre.
Jarrod Bacon, was arrested in May 2009 on weapons charges, found guilty on February 2, 2012 of several allegations related to cocaine trade. On May 4, 2012, Jarrod was sentenced to 12 years in prison for conspiracy to trade cocaine. The penalty is then reduced to seven years and two months after the time served is considered.
In September 2009, the Integrated Gang Taskforce reported that eight colleagues had been killed since a police public warning that those associated with Jon, Jarrod and Jamie Bacon avoided a trio or were potentially marked to death by rival criminals.
Pending trial, Jamie Bacon and his colleagues were detained separately. B.C. The Correction Services said these actions were for their own protection as other rivals were also in custody awaiting multiple trials. In what legal observers say is an unusual request, Jamie Bacon submitted an application to the British Columbia Supreme Court to end its cage as a violation of its rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom. The Court found that James Bacon had suffered cruel and unusual treatment while in custody, contrary to Article 12 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom and that he had suffered such treatment for the purpose of advancing police investigations. The condition of labor is also found to be the deprivation of the liberty and security of a person who is inconsistent with the fundamental principles of justice, contrary to article 7 of the Charter. During the trial, the court learned that Bacon's special phone call with his counselor had been illegally recorded. This issue remains before the Court. Bacon was released to a public prison population and restrictions on visits and telephone communications were removed.
In May 2010, the court punished Jamie Bacon of 11 indictments related to the discovery of a firearm in April 2007 but freed Jarrod's older brother from all charges.
Death of Jonathan Bacon
On August 14, 2011, Jonathan Bacon was killed through a shot outside the Delta Grand Hotel in Kelowna, BC. Larry Amero, a full member of Hells Angels, was also badly wounded in the attack. Jason McBride, Jujhar Khun-Khun and Michael Kerry Hunter Jones are now charged with respect to the shooting.
Superintendent Pat Fogarty of the Special Forces Combined Unit, suggested that Bacon's oldest death and the detention of two other brothers, would create chaos among gang leaders that the popularity and influence of the Red Scorpion would diminish in England. The Columbia Gang of the world.
