Dallas Page (born Joseph Falkinburg's Page on April 5, 1956), better known as the ring Diamond Dallas Page ( DDP ), is a semi-retired American professional wrestler, fitness instructor, motivational speaker and actor. In the course of his wrestling career, which spanned two decades, Falkinburg has wrestled for the main wrestling of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) promotion, World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Falkinburg first entered the wrestling business in 1988, as manager at the American Wrestling Association, where he worked for nine months before signing a contract with WCW in 1991. There, he continued as a manager until late 1991, when he became a wrestler. Over a decade at WCW, Falkinburg became a three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, twice WCW United States Heavyweight Champion, four times WCW World Tag Team Champion and one-time WCW World Television Champion. He is the fourth winner of WCW Triple Crown, and the only US heavyweight champion to defend his title in a major pay-per-view event, defeating Bret Hart in the 1998 World War.

After WCW was sold in 2001, Falkinburg signed a contract with WWF where he made his pay-per-view debut on July's main Invasion event, and then became a one-time WWF European Champion and one-time WWF World Tag Champion Team. Due to a series of injuries, he let his contract with the company expire in 2002. He worked for TNA from 2004 to 2005, challenging for the NWA World Class Championships at the flagship event of Destination X 2005.

On February 20, 2017, WWE announced that Page would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2017 class, and on March 31, 2017, he was formally inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Eric Bischoff.

Professional wrestling career

American American splitting of American Wrestling Association (1988)

Falkinburg runs a nightclub in Fort Myers, Florida called "Norma Jeans" (known as the Pink Cadillac) as he works as a wrestling manager at the American Wrestling Association (AWA). He began managing in 1988, where he tackled Badd Company (Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka), a team he led to the AWA Tag Team World Championships on March 19th. Badd Company, often accompanied by a female valet known as "Diamond Dolls" (Tonya, Jennifer and Torri). During his time at AWA, Falkinburg also manages Colonel DeBeers, Curt Hennig and Madusa Miceli as stable leaders of Diamond Exchange. He worked for AWA on the 12th for a period of nine months, during which they filmed all television shows in one day.

Professional Wrestling Federation (1989-1991)

Falkinburg also worked as a color commentator at the Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), soon to be renamed the Professional Wrestling Federation (PWF), where he worked with Gordon Solie, before finally making his debut as a professional wrestler. Falkinburg's first pro game occurred in May 1989 against Dick Slater.

In 1990, Dallas received an experiment with WWF as a broadcaster, but was not offered a job. At WrestleMania VI, he drives Rhythm and Blues (The Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine) to the ring in his pink Cadillac. At the moment, he is virtually unknown in the World Wrestling Federation. When FCW went out of business, Falkinburg was still involved in the club business until Dusty Rhodes returned to World Championship Wrestling. Rhodes began ordering and carrying Falkinburg in a small contract in early 1991.

World Championship Wrestling

Alliances (1991-1993)

Falkinburg came to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1991 as manager of The Fabulous Freebirds (Jimmy Garvin and Michael P.S. Hayes). Falkinburg arranged for Freebirds to be shot at the NWA World Tag Team Championship where they defeated Doom (Butch Reed and Ron Simmons) on 24 February. Before the game went on, Falkinburg launched a new stable road manager, Big Daddy Dink, formerly known as Oliver Humperdink, who intervened in the game. During this match Falkinburg introduced the Diamond Dolls. Falkinburg added Scott Hall to the stables under the name Diamond Studd. Falkinburg also works as a color commentator for WCW with Eric Bischoff. With rumors that WCW wanted to take Diamond Studd from Falkinburg, he decided to accept Magnum T.A. and start wrestling alone. He heads to the WCW Power Station where Buddy Lee Parker, The Assassin, and Dusty Rhodes train 35-year-old rookie. He debuted as a wrestler in a tag team match that year. With Diamond Studd, he faces Kevin Sullivan and his partner. He was relegated to the list of "job seekers". He made his debut pay-per-view wrestling at Starrcade in 1991, teaming up with Mike Graham in a bid that lost to Jushin Thunder Liger and Bill Kazmaier. Regarding this period, he stated: Page says Bischoff gives me a job because I am a great example of work ethic, passion, and someone who cares about business. Since they will not actually order me, I go to & lt;/nowiki & gt; WCW Power Plant every day I do not work. That's how you adapt to adversity. Even when I started making it, I still keep coming back. Until I'm on the road 260 days a year plus, I'll still go to the Power Station. For five years I went there, because that's how long I got to the top.

Falkinburg continued to wrestle and bring other wrestlers to his cage, The Diamond Mine, such as Scotty Flamingo (Raven) and Vinnie Vegas (Kevin Nash). The relationship between DDP, Flamingo, and Vegas is used in many corners over the next few months. Falkinburg left at the corner of Scotty Flamingo, on Clash of Champions XXI on November 18, 1992, when Flamingo fought Johnny B. Badd in a boxing game at work. Flamingo won this fight with a little help from Falkinburg filling the Flamingo gloves with water. The following year, after Studd and Flamingo left stable, Falkinburg teamed up with Vinnie Vegas as Connection Vegas. However, the team disbanded immediately after debut when Falkinburg suffered rotator cuffs torn in matches against Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce towards the end of 1992 and then fired, while Nash left WCW for the World Wrestling Federation.

World Television Champion and feud with Randy Savage (1994-1997)

Falkinburg, determined to continue improving his character, seeks the help of Jake Roberts who advises him on the psychological aspects of business. After the injury had healed, Falkinburg returned to WCW television in 1994, with his wife Kimberly as Diamond Doll, and a screenguard, Max Muscle. She holds the challenge hand in hand to win Kimberly, but Max always helps her win or wrestle for her. He was also involved in a corner where he was said to have collected a total of 13 million dollars through victory in a panco competition, a fortune that would later be lost. He also has a long feud with Dave Sullivan because Sullivan rewards Kimberly (and largely because Falkinburg is defeated by Sullivan in one of the panco contests, which makes him dating Kimberly). In Fall Brawl, Falkinburg won his first championship when he defeated Renegade for the WCW World Television Championship. In building his first defense title in Halloween Havoc, there was a dispute between Falkinburg and Kimberly. Johnny B. Badd defeated Falkinburg for the TV title and again in World War 3 on November 26, winning Kimberly freedom from DDP. On Uncensored on March 24, 1996, The Booty Man with Kimberly as The Booty Babe defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a Loser Leaves Town game.

Falkinburg returned to the May 18, 1996, edition of WCW Saturday Night as tweener beat Billy Kidman. On May 19th, Falkinburg participated in the Lord of the Ring Tournament (Battle Bowl) in Slamboree. Falkinburg won when he beat The Barbarian with two Diamond Cutters. The winner is to be the number one contender for the World Title which at that time was held by The Giant. However, he never received the title title he got that night. Page fought with Eddie Guerrero when the New World Order (nWo) was formed. Since Nash and Hall are both former Page's partners, they helped him in his match at the tournament held for the empty US Championship of Heavyweight Championships. Believing their help was not appreciated, however, Hall and Nash attacked him during the final of the tournament, as it handed the belt to Guerrero. After showing the benefits of nWo, they asked him to join. He responded by giving them the Diamond Cutter on January 25, 1997 in Souled Out, initiating a face turn and hostility with nWo. Soon after, Page started a recent hostility. Recruit "Macho Man" Randy Savage. On an episode of Nitro , Savage, aided by Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, attacked Page and sprayed "WW" on his back. A few weeks later in Uncensored, Savage and Miss Elizabeth "broke up" (the successful photoshoot) by revealing to the world that Page and Kimberly were, in fact, married. Savage then proceeded to hit the Page, ensuring a future match between the two. At Spring Stampede, at the first major pay-per-view event, she and Savage fight in a match in which Page wins, but that's not the end of the conflict between the two. A few months later at The Great American Bash, they reigned with everything, lit a match. The match ended with Savage beating Page with help from (then) Tag Team Champion Scott Hall. At Bash at the Beach, Scott Hall and Randy Savage beat Diamond Dallas Page and Curt Hennig. Curt Hennig, of which Diamond Dallas Page has been recruiting in person to join WCW and team with him, turned on DDP during the game. Hennig beat Diamond Dallas Page in a Grudge game on Road Wild. At Fall Brawl, Page teamed up with Lex Luger to defeat Scott Hall and Randy Savage in the game Without Disqualification. Page even dressed up as a masked wrestler La Parka and defeated Savage. Around this time, Page also began to fight the leader of nWo, Hollywood Hogan. Page and Savage fought for the last time in Halloween Havoc. The game was billed as a Las Vegas Sudden Death game, where Savage pinned the Page after Hogan, who dressed as Sting, came out and hit Page with a battered baseball bat in the center of his "injured" body, resulting in Savage's victory. On an episode of Nitro shortly after Halloween Havoc, Page fought against Hogan, but was again beaten by nWo.

United States Heavy Class (1997-1998)

At Starrcade, Page won the US Heavyweight Championship of Curt Hennig. The following year in Uncensored, Page defended the title in Triple Threat, Falls Count Anywhere contest against Chris Benoit and Raven, placing Raven through a table with Diamond Cutter to defend the belt. The page then lost the title to Raven in Spring Stampede. Later in the year, Pages marked with Karl Malone against Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman at Bash on the Beach, lost out due to disruption. The page is marked with late night talk show host Jay Leno at Road Wild, where they defeated Hogan and Eric Bischoff.

In Fall Brawl, Page won the main WarGames event, and earned the unbeaten World Cup title against Goldberg in Halloween Havoc. Page did not win the match, but the match was selected as Match of the Year in 1998. Halloween Havoc runs a little longer than expected resulting in a number of cable companies blackening the end of the Hogan game against the Warriors and all DDP versus Goldberg contest. WCW decided to air the title bout Goldberg versus DDP in its entirety on October 26th edition Nitro , which proved very popular in the rankings and resulted in a ranking win for Nitro over Raw - the last victory of Nitro ever. Despite this setback in the World title picture, Page rebounded the following night Halloween Havoc, on Oct. 26th edition of Nitro, with a victory over Bret Hart to capture the US Heavy Class Title. Two titles in the next World War 3, in the title game that Page won. Page lost the title for Hart on November 30th edition of Nitro in a No Disqualified match, when he was attacked by The Giant.

World Heavyweight Champion (1999-2001)

Page became WCW World Heavyweight Champion in April 1999, at Spring Stampede when she defeated Sting, Hogan and Ric Flair for the title in Four Way Dance with "Macho Man" Randy Savage as Special Guest Referee. The page pinned Flair after giving Flair the Diamond Cutter. The starting page has a change in attitude, fans quietly begin to start scorning Page and he quietly turns heel. During the game, Page tapped Goldberg with metal books and repeatedly struck his feet in a steel chair as he leaned against the ring ladder, mocking fans by saying "boo me now" repeatedly. He only stopped when Kevin Nash, an angry Hogan ally at Page for (kayfabe) injured Hogan's knee during a game at Spring Stampede, returned from injury and kicked him out.

On April 26, 1999, Page lost and regained the title within two hours. Sting challenged him to defend his title in the first hour of the night Nitro and defeated him to regain the title he had lost from the previous year. It ended the Page period in 15 days, but he got a chance to regain the title ninety minutes later. Nash came into the ring and set up a challenge for a four-way game for the title, and the recently-ousted Page joined defending champions Sting and Goldberg in the match. Page regained the world title by using a foreign object to beat Nash and win and retake the title without actually defeating the defending champion. Nash became the number one contender shortly after that and vowed to take revenge on Page for his friend Hogan, culminating in a match at Slamboree in May. The yard initially retained the world championship after the Savage annoyed and beat Nash, but the match was ordered to be continued by Eric Bischoff and Nash pinned Page to win the title after the powerbomb. Page out of the title image shortly thereafter.

Shortly after Slamboree, Page entered into an alliance with fellow New Jersey players Bam Bam Bigelow and won the World TagWatch World Championships from then Perry Saturn and Raven champions on May 31, thanks to Chris Kanyon who turned heels in his former ally Raven and cost the team championship. Page, Bigelow, and Kanyon are known as the Jersey Triad and through their alliance with WCW "President for Life" Ric Flair takes advantage of the Freebird Rule in their next game (which means the combination of the three can defend the championship). Triad held the title until June 10, when Saturn and Chris Benoit (now stablemates in The Revolution) took the title from them. They regained the belt at The Great American Bash three days later, and lost them to the Harlem Heat at Wild Road in August. That night, Chris Benoit beat Diamond Dallas Page to defend the US title. The group broke up shortly afterwards and Page started hostile to Hogan again, joining Sid Vicious and Rick Steiner in a team effort to confront Hogan, Sting, and Goldberg. As soon as the hostility ends Page turns into a hero again and fights with Kanyon and Bigelow before the year ends.

In 2000, with WCW under new management, Page grabbed a shot on the empty World Heavyweight Championship belt at Spring Stampede against Jeff Jarrett. With a shocking surprise, Page's wife, Kimberly, opened the Page and helped Jarrett become the new World Champion. Page got the better of Jarrett on the April 24th edition of Nitro , where he beat Jarrett in a steel cage game to become WCW World Heavyweight Champion for the third time, then lost the title for his tag partner, actor David Arquette, three days later at Thunder ; the rules state that whoever gets the pin will win the title, and Arquette pays Jarrett's partner Eric Bischoff. Page attempted to win the title back at Slamboree later that month in a three-game match against Arquette and Jarrett but lost after Arquette hit him with a guitar. The page then enters hostility with Mike Awesome, who defeated him in Ambulance Matches at The Great American Bash after Kanyon activated Page.

Page took time off shortly after this, but returned in late 2000 as a full-time wrestler. After Page back he formed a tag team with Kevin Nash called The Insiders, and the team won the tag team championship on November 26 in Mayhem by defeating the Perfect Event (Shawn Stasiak and Chuck Palumbo). The team were temporarily stripped of the title but won them back at Starrcade defeating Stasiak and Palumbo again. Page and Nash lost titles to Palumbo and Sean O'Haire at Sin in January and broke up shortly afterwards. After his tag team runs Page with a brief clash with the returning Kanyon, who sees Kanyon defeating Page in SuperBrawl Revenge, and Page defeats Kanyon the next night at Nitro, ending their animosity. The page then moves to the World Championship drawing again by facing Scott Steiner. Their hostility peaked in the final of the PPV Greed WCW, watching Page's last game at WCW and semi-grave defeat as she passed Steiner's Steiner Recliner.

World Wrestling Federation

Disagree with The Undertaker and The Alliance (2001)

When WCW was purchased by WWF owner Vince McMahon in 2001, Page was one of several major WCW stars (along with Booker T and Buff Bagwell) who received their AOL Time Warner contract purchase to immediately sign a contract with McMahon. He debuted at the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) on the June 18, 2001 edition of Raw when he introduced himself as stalker of The Undertaker's wife, Sara. The page revealed he did not care about Sara; he just does that to make an impact and wants to take the biggest dog in the yard. Page immediately joined the Alliance during the Invasion corner. In the King of the Ring, he fought The Undertaker in an unlicensed fight that was never announced as an official match.

Page and Chris Kanyon reunited on the 6th August 2001 edition of Raw when Kanyon helped Page attack The Undertaker backstage. Three days later in the August 9, 2001 edition of SmackDown! , Page and Kanyon beat APA to win the WWF Tag Team Championship.

Hostilities with Undertaker lasted for the best three months and ended when Undertaker and Kane defeated Page and Kanyon at SummerSlam on August 19, 2001 in a CW game for the WWF Tag Team Championship, where Page suffered an injury that kept him from functioning until late October 2001.

He became famous for his slogan "Yo! It's me, it's me, it's DDP!" When Page was injured he developed a new gimmick in September 2001 to become a motivational speaker, something he did in real life, in what became known as his Positive Page character. The name is derived from the autobiographical title published during his WCW days. The character, which Page developed after attending the Tony Robbins seminar Results 2000 in October 2000, involved Pages smiling and acting optimistically, with his distinctive phrase "That's not a bad thing... that's... a good thing ".

The return of her televised match was on November 3, 2001 at Rebellion losing to Big Show. After the Alliance lost in the DDP Survivor Series along with the other Alliance members (except for the Test that has won a royal immune battle) kayfabe lost their jobs.

European champion and departure (2002)

Page finally returned as a face and won his work again by beating Big Boss Man on the January 17, 2002 edition of SmackDown! . The page competed in the Royal Rumble match on a titular event on January 20, 2002 but did not win.

Page to WWF European Champion on January 31, 2002 from SmackDown! , when he defeated Christian, a former positive "philosophy" follower. At WrestleMania X8, Pages were successfully defended in a rematch against Christians. However, she lost her title to William Regal on an episode of Smackdown that aired on March 19th. On March 25, Page is designed for SmackDown! brand as part of the WWF 2002 draft draw.

On April 18 episode SmackDown , she suffered a neck injury during the game with Hardcore Holly. This, along with his age and building other disturbing wounds, contributed to his decision to allow his WWF contract to expire before the end of April.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2004-2005)

On April 1, 2004, Diamond Dallas Page announced its return to the ring. After working for several independent promotions, he debuted with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling on November 12th, hostile to Raven and Erik Watts. On Turning Point, DDP beat Raven, and in Final Resolution (2005), Page competed in a three-way elimination game won by Monty Brown. On February 4th edition Impact! , Page and Monty Brown beat The Naturals, then in the February 11 issue, Page defeated Chris Candido. At Against All Odds, Page and Brown beat Team Canada (Bobby Roode and Eric Young). Page received the NWA Heavyweight World Championship title which was shot on March 13, 2005 at Destination X, but was defeated by defending champion Jeff Jarrett when Monty Brown turned his heels and hit Page with Pounce. On March 18th edition Impact! , Page and Sean Waltman defeated Lex Lovett and Buck Quartermain, and on April 15, Page and Waltman faced The Outlaw and Monty Brown in a losing bid. At Lockdown, DDP works with B.G. James and Waltman to beat Jeff Jarrett, Monty Brown and The Outlaw in a Lethal Lockdown game. At Hard Justice, Page and Ron Killings face Monty Brown and The Outlaw where they are defeated in what is Page's last game in the TNA. TNA left page soon after.

Juggalo Championship Wrestling (2009)

Return to WWE (2011-present)

At the end of 2010, Page agreed to work on a DVD for WWE, entitled Best of WCW Monday Nitro , after being approached by the project due to its relationship with WCW. Page hosts the DVD, which was released on June 7, 2011. On the 27th June edition of Raw , Page made a display promoting this DVD with Booker T.

In 2012, Page appears on WWE Classics on Demand in Legends of Wrestling Roundtable: Renegades with Jim Ross, Michael P.S. Hayes, Roddy Piper, and Gene Okerlund. Page also appeared with Kevin Nash and X-Pac at the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31, 2012. On July 2, 2012, Page made an appearance on Raw , where he hit Diamond Cutter at Heath Slater. He also appeared on Baku 1000 , accompanied by other WWE Legends, during Slater's game with Lita.

On January 6, 2014, the episode of Raw , Page, along with a number of other legends, appeared on the show as part of the "Old School" theme. On April 5, Page inaugurated his wrestling mentor and recorded DDP Yoga practitioner Jake Roberts into the WWE Hall of Fame.

On January 25, 2015, at Royal Rumble, Page was a surprise participant in the Rumble game, entering at number 14, where he would hit his finishing moves, Diamond Cutters, on Stardust, Bray Wyatt and Fandango from the top ropes, before being eliminated by Rusev. At WrestleMania 32, Page competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but was eliminated by Konnor.

In 2016 Page is displayed in Nine Legend's Expansion Pack to talk about her friend, Bill Goldberg.

On March 31, 2017 Page was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in Orlando, Florida.

Other media

Page developed a yoga fitness program originally called Yoga for the Regular Guys Workout or YRG after recovering from a split into its L4/L5 disc in 1998 and discovering the health benefits of yoga through its former wife, Kimberly. His favorite yoga type (according to the book "Yoga for Regular Guys" published in 2005) is "Power Yoga," the American version of Yoga "Ashtanga Style". Page works with Doctor of Chiropractic Dr. Craig Aaron, "Yoga-Doc" and developed Yoga for the Regular Guys Workout .

Page developed the book into a series of training videos entitled DDP YOGA (formerly YRG). DDP Yoga is featured in a video about Arthur Boorman in May 2012. The story is taken by mainstream media, including Good Morning America. This video describes the journey of Arthur Boorman, a disabled war vet who was told by a doctor that he would never walk again. After 15 years of using crutches, Boorman lost 140 pounds in 10 months and regained the ability to walk and run without crutches, back support or foot support.

On February 21, 2014, Page appeared in the ABC Shark Tank series, where he was looking for $ 200,200 for a 5% share in the company. He refused to sell 50% of the shares for the same amount. He hopes to use the money to develop a mobile app. Investors believe the corporate profits ($ 800,000 in the prior year) will fall. Page later said he sold more than $ 1 million of products in the first six days after his performance.

Page also hosted a radio show titled DDP Radio .

Legal Charges

Pages are usually associated with the "Five Martial Arts" as well as the symbol "Diamond Cutter", hand gestures created by uniting the thumb and forefinger on each hand to form a diamond shape, then splitting both hands with one quick movement. He created the symbol in 1996 and then the trademark. In December 2005, Page filed a lawsuit against rapper Jay-Z, who, according to him, had "illegally adopted his distinctive hand movements". Page accuses Jay-Z of trademark infringement, and seeks prohibition orders and monetary damages. This resulted in Page dropping the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount of money. On August 31, 2010, Page filed a lawsuit against American electronics duo 3OH! 3 for his trademarked trademark "Diamond Cutter" hand violation.

Page's WCW enters the music, "Self High-Five", deliberately containing in common with the 1991 Nirvana song "Smells Like Teen Spirit", as composer Jimmy Hart and Page felt it was exemplified "the sound of the 90s". According to Page, Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl, in turn claimed that "WCW owes to us [the band] money", but before any further action or lawsuit takes place, the track is changed to "sounds like it, but it does not".
